The Ultimate Sundae Party!

Ice cream! Sprinkles! Crushed butterfingers! Candy pearls! Bananas!

Those are just some of the delicious toppings that make up the most spectacular and exciting sundae bar you’ve ever seen! I don’t think that you can ever go wrong with ice cream sundaes. Though it might seem daunting to put together a sundae bar of this magnitude, it really is easy and everyone will love it. You’ll want to get a variety of toppings, both traditional and unique, because people will enjoy being creative with their topping choices! This is great for a birthday party or any celebration for people of any age. The topping ideas listed below are suggestions, but, of course you can always exchange them for something different. Depending on the number of people, reduce or double the amount of ingredients. And, as always, have fun and enjoy!

Ingredients (Toppings)

  • Non Pareils
  • Oats and honey granola
  • Chocolate covered espresso beans
  • Popcorn mix
  • Honey roasted peanuts
  • Vanilla crunch sprinkles
  • Reese’s Pieces candy
  • Toasted coconut
  • Crushed plantain chips
  • Butterscotch chips
  • Raisinets
  • Peppermint Patties
  • Salted caramel sauce
  • Crushed Oreos
  • Banana, sliced
  • Maraschino cherries
  • Gingersnap cookies, crushed
  • Chocolate sprinkles
  • Chocolate crunch sprinkles
  • Skittles
  • Brownies, cut into pieces
  • Hot fudge sauce
  • Butterfinger candy, crushed
  • Corn cereal, crushed
  • Whipped cream
  • M & M candy
  • Marshmallows
  • Candy Pearls
  • 2-3 gallons of ice cream (I estimate 1/2 cup of ice cream per person)

How to assemble the sundae bar:

  1. Place each topping into a separate bowl. We actually used small paper cups to hold the toppings.
  2. Begin with the dry ingredients first and set them out on a large tray or table.
  3. Line up all the bowls for the ice cream, spoons for serving the toppings, spoons for enjoying the sundaes, and napkins.
  4. Right before you are ready to serve, you’ll want to put out the whipped cream, sliced bananas, and warmed fudge and caramel sauces.
  5. Lastly, take out the ice cream flavors from the freezer. I would suggest plain flavors such vanilla, chocolate and strawberry to allow all the toppings to stand out.
  6. And now, you’re ready to dig in! Start with a scoop or 2 of ice cream followed by your choice of many toppings. See how many combinations you can invent!
