Double Berry Smoothie

As we’re getting into the warmer weather season, we find ourselves feeling like whipping up some delicious smoothies to enjoy for breakfast or to have as a mid-afternoon snack. Now, there seems to be all sorts of add-ins and toppings like spirulina, bee pollen, and hemp protein powder. We chose to add in a small amount of the hemp protein powder to our Double Berry Smoothie for a small boost of additional protein. It does not, however, take away from the delicious flavors of the fresh blueberries and raspberries. Our smoothie is easy to make ahead because you can store it in an insulated bottle the night before and grab it to go in the morning. It’s slightly tart flavor comes from the raspberries, but it is sweetened by the almond butter and banana. Both the yogurt and the hemp powder serve as great sources of protein. It’s very filling, satisfying, and makes for an easy breakfast for the week. Coming in at 320 calories, it’s perfect for a healthy breakfast on the go or use it as your mid-afternoon pick me up. Either way, you are sure to enjoy this sweet tasting smoothie!
